DOKUMENTATION GARZWEILER

A photographic documentary by Arne Müseler

Weyerhof

The farm is on the edge
of the future mining area

The Weyerhof belongs to the town of Holzweiler and therefore also to Erkelenz. The farm is located almost exactly on the edge of the planned mining area. The exact location of the mining field in this area has yet to be defined; the farm may still be preserved.

Twelve villages will be demolished for opencast mining

Five villages have already been completely destroyed, one has almost nothing left and six others are currently being relocated. Two to three individual farms, the final mining limit is not yet entirely certain, will be relocated towards the end of the opencast mining.
